On March 5, 2009, it was announced that Vaughn and Canadian realtor Kyla Weber were engaged. Vaughn and Weber married on January 2, 2010 in a small ceremony at the Great Hall of the historic Armour House at Lake Forest Academy in Vaughn's hometown of Lake Forest, Illinois. On July 13, 2010, it was announced that Vaughn and Weber are expecting their first child. The couple live in Chicago.

Vaughn is a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and the University of Notre Dame, all of which are featured prominently in his film The Break-Up.[citation needed] Vaughn, as part of the U.S.O. tour, has visited soldiers all over Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Iraq.
